Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko's advisor denied on Thursday that Ukraine possessed any Buk-M1 systems at the time of the July 17, 2014 Malaysia Airlines MH17 crash. On Tuesday, surface-to-air missile system manufacturer Almaz-Antey presented a report which indicated that a Buk-M1 missile, operated by the Ukrainian military, was likely responsible for the disaster.
"The first Buk-M1 surface-to-air missile system repaired in Ukraine will enter combat duty as soon as possible. The signing of the act to accept the system from repairs shows that domestic industry has mastered repairing surface-to-air systems of this type," the Ukrainian surface-to-air missile forces commander, Major General Dmitro Karpenko told the publication.

Le gouvernement néerlandais considère qu'une nouvelle enquête internationale sur le crash du Boeing malaisien en Ukraine permettrait une meilleure coopération entre les Etats concernés.
Le gouvernement néerlandais mène des négociations sur la possibilité d'enquêter sur le crash du Boeing le 17 juillet dernier dans le Donbass ukrainien dans le cadre de la Cour internationale de justice, rapporte l'agence Reuters citant les sources proches de la situation.

"La Cour internationale de justice serait la meilleure option. Nous espérons que cela permettrait à tous les pays (concernés par l'affaire) de mieux coopérer", a fait savoir un haut fonctionnaire du gouvernement néerlandais désireux de conserver l'anonymat.

Almost a year ago, Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 was shot down over eastern Ukraine killing 298 people. Yet, instead of a transparent investigation seeking justice, the case became a propaganda game of finger-pointing, with the CIA withholding key evidence all the better to blame Russia, reports Robert Parry.

The first anniversary of MH17 is just few days off. Yet the result of the investigation into its causes seems to inch further and further away. Instead of clamouring for the full facts of this outrageous attack on a civilian aircraft to be made public, mainstream journalists stand on the side-lines, digging up stories they filed last year to feed the mill one more time. Just what do they take us for? Real concern for the families of the victims appears to be the last thing on their mind.

A year ago, the U.S. government issued a sketchy report on the Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 shoot-down citing “social media” and other flimsy data implicating eastern Ukrainian rebels and Russia, but then – as hard intelligence became available – went silent. Now, U.S. intelligence veterans are demanding release of that intel.

Choosing to Reveal the Truth

If the White House has concrete, probative intelligence regarding MH-17, we strongly suggest that the time is right to approve it for release before the “blame Russia” narrative becomes completely dominant. The American people are perfectly capable of judging for themselves what took place but they need to have all the information presented without bias and without any attempt to evade unpleasant conclusions. And it should be done even given the risk of compromising “sources and methods,” as the broader issue of war or peace with Russia is something that should be of paramount concern to every American.

Exclusive: Determined to enforce the “group think” on Ukraine, the editors of The New York Times lashed out at Russia for urging an expanded inquiry into last year’s MH-17 shoot-down. But the Times won’t join calls for the U.S. government to release its intelligence on the tragedy, writes Robert Parry.

The facts don't support the US propaganda that Russia is responsible for the Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 crash; that is why Washington is pushing a UN International Tribunal on the catastrophe to get what it wants, Dr. Paul Craig Roberts stresses.

There is something very fishy about the fact that Washington and Kiev refused to release crucial data related to the MH17 catastrophe, while Russia, in contrast, provided all evidence in its possession in full compliance with the evidentiary requirements of the investigation, according to Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, a prominent American economist, former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy and author.
"Washington refuses to release the information from its spy satellite that was directly overhead at the moment of the airliner's destruction, and Kiev refuses to release its communications with the airliner that directed the airliner to change course and to fly over a combat zone," Dr. Roberts pointed out.

"The Dutch or the Europeans, whoever it is that is responsible for investigating the downing of the Malaysian airliner MH-17, is unable to get a report released. What does this tell us? It tells me that the facts don't support the propaganda that Russia is responsible. You can bet your bottom dollar that if there was any evidence of Russia's responsibility, the report would have been out long ago," he stressed.

One year after the tragedy of flight MH17, RTD revisits the investigation into the Boeing 777 crash. The film explores theories relating to the cause of the tragedy, and also tells some of the personal stories of the victims and their families. It presents interviews with experts, witnesses and bloggers who are trying to establish the truth of what might have brought the plane down. As the Dutch-led investigation continues to be shrouded in secrecy, many believe it may be overlooking important evidence. Meanwhile, the relatives of those who died in the crash are still waiting for answers.

Propaganda is the life-blood of life-destroying wars, and the U.S. government has reached new heights (or depths) in this art of perception management. A case in point is the media manipulation around last year’s Malaysia Airlines shoot-down over Ukraine, says ex-CIA analyst Ray McGovern.
