The New Year Starts Strong for New Cars and Light Commercial Vehicles in Russia

• Sales of new passenger cars and LCVs in Russia increased by 20% in January 2012
• Among the top ten bestselling models so far, ten are locally produce

According to the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee (AEB AMC), February, 2012 saw the sales of new cars and
light commercial vehicles in Russia increase by 25% in comparison to the same period in 2011. This February, 206,873 units were sold; this is 40,718 units more than in February, 2011.
Among the top ten bestselling models of passenger cars so far, ten are produced in Russia.
January and February 2012 saw the percentage sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia increase by 23% in
comparison to the same period in 2011 or by 66,867 more sold units

The Year Continues Strong for New Cars and Light Commercial Vehicles in Russia

• Among the top ten bestselling models so far, ten are locally produced
According to the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee (AEB AMC), March, 2012 saw the sales of new cars and light
commercial vehicles in Russia increase by 13% in comparison to the same period in 2011. This March, 252,816 units were
sold; this is 28,974 units more than in March, 2011.
Among the top ten bestselling models of passenger cars so far, ten are produced in Russia.
The first quarter of 2012 saw the percentage sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia increase by 19% in
comparison to the same period in 2011 or by 96,007 more sold units.

David Thomas, Chairman of the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee commented:
“The passenger car and light commercial vehicles market in Russia continued to show sustained growth in March though at a
lower level than in the first two months of 2012. We are seeing signs of a more normalised market as stocks of 2011
production year cars fall and supply of 2012 cars comes on stream. There is still a significant range of year on year growth
across different brands. Q1 in 2011 was also a very strong period of growth so 19% growth in Q1 2012 is still a very
encouraging performance. The Automotive Manufacturer's committee does not yet see any change to our previous view of
2.8m full year, but will review our forecast during April and announce any change in next month's press release.”

According to the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee (AEB AMC), April, 2012 saw the sales of
new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia increase by 14% in comparison to the same period in
2011. This April, 266,267 units were sold; this is 33,189 units more than in April, 2011.
From January to April, 2012 the percentage sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia
increased by 18% in comparison to the same period in 2011 or by 135,066 more sold units.

David Thomas, Chairman of the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee commented:
"The solid growth of the Russian automotive market continues into the second quarter. Although the pace
of the year on year growth is stabilising to less than 15% in recent months, we still feel that the AEB full
year forecast for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles should be increased by 50,000 units to 2.85
mln."

According to the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee (AEB AMC), June 2012 saw the sales of new cars
and light commercial vehicles in Russia increase by 10% in comparison to the same period in 2011. This June
272.125 units were sold; this is 25.277 units more than in June, 2011.
From January to June, 2012 the percentage sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia increased by
14% in comparison to the same period in 2011 or by 177.383 more sold units.

According to the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee (AEB AMC), July 2012 saw the increase in sales of
new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia by 14% in comparison to the same period in 2011. This July
255.560 units were sold; this is 30.695 units more than in July, 2011.
From January to July, 2012 the percentage sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia increased by
14% in comparison to the same period in 2011 or by 208.204 more sold units.

Joerg Schreiber, Chairman of the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee commented:
Sales of over 255 thousand units represent a very strong result for a summer month. In fact, this is the best-ever
July in the history of the Russian market for passenger cars and light commercials. So we are pleased to see that the
industry remains in good shape – a perfect backdrop for the Moscow International Automobile Salon to open later
this month.

According to the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee (AEB AMC), August 2012 saw the increase in sales
of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia by 15% in comparison to the same period in 2011. This
August 258.761 units were sold; this is 33.950 units more than in August, 2011.
From January to August, 2012 the percentage sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia increased
by 14% in comparison to the same period in 2011 or by 242.154 more sold units.

According to the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee (AEB AMC), September 2012 saw the increase in
sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia by 10% in comparison to the same period in 2011. This
September 259.582 units were sold; this is 23.852 units more than in September, 2011.
From January to September, 2012 the percentage sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia
increased by 14% in comparison to the same period in 2011 or by 266.005 more sold units.

Joerg Schreiber, Chairman of the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee commented:
“The hot phase of fast year-on-year growth in Russia is over, for now. On the backdrop of the situation in the rest
of Europe however, a 10% increase in sales is a very respectable result.”

According to the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee (AEB AMC), October 2012 saw the increase in
sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia by 5% in comparison to the same period in 2011. This
October 253.732 units were sold; this is 12.804 units more than in October, 2011.
From January to October, 2012 the percentage sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia increased
by 13% in comparison to the same period in 2011 or by 278.943 more sold units.
Joerg Schreiber, Chairman of the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee commented:
“For a while now, the market has been feeling a cool down in consumer appetite. By contrast, retail registrations
are still performing above prior year level, supported by robust order banks generated in the first half of the year
and a visible increase in market incentives in recent weeks. Current new order intake however is generally slower
compared to the same period one year ago, and will impact sales performance in the coming months.
Some consolidation had been foreseen for the second half of the year. With only a few weeks remaining until year
end, our sales forecast of 2.85 mils PC and LCV for the full year 2012 therefore remains intact.”

According to the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee (AEB AMC), November 2012 holds the sales volume achieved in comparison to the same period in 2011. This November 240.322 units were sold; this is only 930 units more than in November, 2011.
From January to November, 2012 the percentage sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia increased by 12% in comparison to the same period in 2011 or by 279.873 more sold units.
Joerg Schreiber, Chairman of the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee commented:
“For the first time in well over two years, the Russian car market is not growing but just holding the sales volume achieved in the same period one year ago. The present situation in dealer showrooms across the country is such that we do not expect a quick return to growth in the coming months. Customer activity and purchase appetite in recent months have been weaker than last year, and rather sooner than later this will show in market sales performance.
That said, the cumulative momentum of year-to-date sales is strong enough to expect a closing result for 2012 of no less than 2.9 Mils passenger cars and light commercials.”

Joerg Schreiber, Chairman of the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee commented:
“December 2012 closed with a small improvement over the same month last year, bringing full year sales to a level
of 2.935 million units, up 11% from 2011. This result established a new sales record for Russia, exceeding the
previous peak level of 2.918 million units established in 2008 - if only by a narrow margin.
The outlook for the market in 2013 holds little promise for a quick return to growth at the double-digit rates
enjoyed in recent years. An AMC member poll of industry expectations for the current year resulted in a scope of
+/- 5% around a median of 2.95 million sales of PC and LVC in Russia in 2013. This suggests the market will
consolidate at or close to its current level – an assumption supported by the actual performance in the last couple of
months.”
